There’s nothing I love more than living in a space that feels warm, calm and inviting. Over time, I’ve found simple things that help create a cosy atmosphere without needing to spend a fortune. Here’s what I like to do:
Warm Lighting
Lighting makes all the difference. I always choose warm-toned bulbs instead of bright white ones, and I love using lamps to create soft pools of light around the room. I never use ceiling lights, and white light doesn’t enter my house — not even in the kitchen!
A floor lamp by the sofa, a small table lamp in the corner, and some string lights along a shelf instantly make the space feel more relaxed and homely.

Textures and Patterns
I’m a big fan of cosy textiles. Things like chunky knit throws, cushions, rugs and linen curtains really help to bring warmth and texture to a room.
I like to mix different fabrics in neutral or natural tones — it feels calm and pulled together without being too ‘done’. Even a simple throw across the sofa or a textured cushion on a chair can make the space feel so much cosier.

Personal Touches
Cosiness, for me, also comes from having little things around that make me feel at home in my space — favourite books on the shelf, photos, or random objects that have been in the family for decades. It’s those small, personal details that really make a house feel like our own home and express your personal style.
